7 days of prayer akron

Join us as we take seven days, January 4 through January 10, to focus and pray together for the new year. We are intentionally inviting God to help us experience growth and grace in seven distinct areas. Each day has a guiding Scripture and, on the weekdays at noon, you can join a live, 15-minute, online prayer meeting by clicking the appropriate button below. We will also plan to post recordings of these online prayer meetings on our Facebook and YouTube channels. Let’s get ready for God’s best in 2021!

MONDAY, January 4, 2021Prayer Focus: A Hunger for God’s Word – Pray that, as believers, we would grow in our desire for God’s Word. Psalm 119:92 If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction. 93 I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have given me life.

TUESDAY, January 5, 2021Prayer Focus: Unity Among Believers – Pray for believers to be unified in Spirit and purpose. Romans 15:5 May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, 6 that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

WEDNESDAY, January 6, 2021Prayer Focus: Forgiveness and Healing – First, pray for forgiveness and for a forgiving heart. Second, intercede for those who need to be healed in their body or mind. James 5:13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

THURSDAY, January 7, 2021Prayer Focus: The Great Commission and Laborers for the Harvest – Pray that more and more believers would become personally engaged in making disciples. Matthew 28:19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”  Luke 10:2 And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

FRIDAY, January 8, 2021Prayer Focus: Fully Surrendered Hearts – Pray that you would live a life sold out for God, holding nothing back, and that others in Christ around you would do the same. Luke 9:23 And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”

SATURDAY, January 9, 2021Prayer Focus: A Nation That Seeks God – Pray that our nation would humbly turn away from sin and turn toward God in every way. 2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

SUNDAY, January 10, 2021Prayer Focus: Rest and Renewal – Pray for the rest and renewal we all need. Times of rest are based upon faith in God. Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
